Originally illustrated for the paperback release of the best selling novel and later used as the poster art for the blockbuster film adaptation, Kastel’s vision of Jaws has gone on to become one of the most iconic images in literary and cinematic history.  Forty years later this iconic image of Jaws has remained instantly recognizable worldwide.

"Roger's painting is one of those things that you can show to almost anyone in the world and they will instanly know what it is," says the coins designer, Ralph Asbury, "and to this day, you can't go to the beach without thinking that image, and seeing it on towels, t-shirts, and bathing suits.  People love it."

Each solid brass collectors coin measures 2" in diameter with an antique silver finish. The front side of the coin features a beautifully sculpted 3D rendering of the iconic shark surrounded by the text "40th Anniversary - 1975-2015 - The Iconic Image of Jaws by Roger Kastel."  The reverse side of the coin features an equally beautiful 3D sculpt of the ill-fated swimmer with the dates 1975-2015, "40 Years of Fear", and the signature of its artist, Roger Kastel. You will also notice the tip of the sharks nose entering at the bottom of the coin as its sights are set on its prey.
