“ONA in DAYTONA!” Has Successful Debut as Volusia County’s Newest Women’s Signature Event!

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Sept. 29, 2014 - PRLog -- On Friday, September 19, the Daytona Beach Ocean Center was host venue to representatives from the City Commission of Daytona Beach, Volusia County Council, Bethune-Cookman University, Daytona State College, community led organizations, and an array of area businesses for debut of an engaging cross-cultural platform for enhancing women. It is called the Opal Network Alliance: “ONA in Daytona!”

Echoed throughout the day were insightful professional development and personal enrichment seminars, with a theme of “Beyond Survival … to Thrive.” Nine expert presenters provided a dynamic backdrop for the successful premier, featuring interactive presentations on fiscal strategies, leadership, careers, health, public speaking, social media, stress management, and time management. There were also seminars delivered on domestic violence, leadership, entrepreneurship, self-reinvention, an empowerment luncheon, and a networking ice cream social that concluded the signature day.

Highlighting the event’s Empowerment Luncheon, the office of U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) issued a letter of presentation to the Hispanidad Foundation -- a community initiative of the Volusia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce -- recognizing National Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15 to October 15).
