With data set segmentation users can divide the tokenized information into different categories. The AuricVault™ is able to tokenize a wide range of data with different levels of sensitivity.  With segmentation, users of the tokenization service can store tokenized data like credit card numbers in one segment and tokenized passwords with another segment. The AuricVault™ tokenization service supports up to 999 data segments per user.

Segmentation of data within a business environment is an important security enhancement because, in 2013 and 2014, the sensitive data that was breached from single business entities often included different data sets like, Social Security Numbers(SSN), passwords, credit card account; names, addresses and debt balances, tax information and drivers licenses.
