The site is conveniently located off I-75 and I-275, has railway access, Class A Sewer and Water, is near Metro Airport in Romulus and is close to the Huron Twp. police station. The land also is part of the Aerotropolis (now known as VantagePort) The Aerotropolis, now called VantagePort , features 60,000 acres of land between Metro Airport and Willow Run Airport in Willow Run. It has generated hundreds of millions of dollars in regional development as well as hundreds of new jobs. “With the completion of Wahrman Rd, the site is development ready,” said Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano. “I commend the efforts of all involved, particularly our partners from Huron County, the Michigan Economic Development Corp. (MEDC), the Michigan Dept. of Environmental Quality (MDEQ), the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) and the Wayne County Airport Authority (WCAA),” Ficano added. One company, Load One, LLC, is expected to locate its world headquarters on 40 acres of the site sometime in 2015. Load One is a leader in the logistics industry.
