Airium International Welcomes Distinguished New Board Member

TORONTO - Oct. 15, 2014 - PRLog -- Toronto, Canada, October 14, 2014 – The staff and board members of Airium international, a cloud-based hospitality management company, are pleased to welcome Stephen Kennedy Smith Jr. as their newest board member. He joins Grant Furlane, Barney Pell and Colleen Quinn on a distinguished advisory board for the growing company.

Mr. Smith is a partner at Kennedy Smith Sammaweera, a real estate investment and development company specializing in smart growth and sustainable development, and he brings rich and diverse experience as an advisory board member. He is actively involved in several medical and green technology businesses including Emlink, a renewable-energy development company; The Marwood Group, a healthcare-focused strategic advisory and financial services firm, and Pear Therapeutics, a medical software company. He is US CEO of Valcent Technology.

Mr. Smith serves on the Kennedy Family Financial Advisory Board and is active in the family’s financial investment and real estate development businesses. He was Deputy Campaign Manager for Senator Edward Kennedy’s senatorial and presidential campaigns and he served on the staff of the Senate Judiciary and Foreign Relations Committees. After leaving the Senate, Mr. Smith taught in the negotiation program at Harvard University Law School: during that time, he served as a consultant at Conflict Management Group, where he worked on the Irish peace process and with the organization of African Unity, the World Bank, the IDB and other clients. He has also served on the board of the John F. Kennedy Library, the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial, the Congress on Policy.

Mr. Smith holds an M.A. from Harvard University, a J.D. from Columbia University, and an M.A. Ed. from the Harvard School of Education.
