Nicaragua’s agri-food products will be promoted at SIAL 2014

MANAGUA, Nicaragua - Oct. 15, 2014 - PRLog -- Nicaragua will participate in the upcoming 2014 edition of SIAL in France with a delegation of 8 companies from the agri-food sector and PRONicaragua, the official investment and export promotion agency. SIAL is a unique global food event featuring the world’s leading retail and foodservice buyers in one location.

The country’s delegation will consist of the exporting companies TRANSIMPORT, CECOOPSEMEIN, Industrias Carphil, Tecnoagro, Agroexport, Alcasa, Nejapa Importadora y Exportadora, and Tropicana Fruit Farms, which altogether will be presenting a broad range of premium products which include exotic and tropical fruits, roots and tubers, grains and seeds, spices, ethnic products, processed foods and premium tobacco cigars.

At the country’s booth (#3 A 106), attendees of the event will be able to taste the variety and quality of Nicaragua’s agribusiness products, as well as obtain information on doing business in the country, whether it be sourcing or investing in food production. Nicaragua’s delegation seeks to meet and establish key contacts with international buyers to explore potential business opportunities in the near future.

Nicaragua’s participation in this event is part of the Competitiveness Strengthening Program for Nicaraguan Enterprises (http://www.pronicaragua.org/en/newsroom/press-releases/11...), an initiative of the Government of Nicaragua with the support of the European Union to aid local companies in building capacity and increasing their competitiveness in order to penetrate key international markets.

The Salon International de l'Agroalimentaire (SIAL) is the largest food innovation observatory in the world and is dedicated to the agri-food industry, food retail, and institutional and commercial catering. The event counts with around 6,300 exhibitors from all over the world (105 countries represented) and serves as an opportunity to meet new business partners.
