Entrepreneur Impact Day Launches In Los Angeles, Bringing Together Nonprofit Leaders And Local EntrepreneursSelected nonprofits will be paired with esteemed entrepreneurs to solve each of their pressing challenges during a one-day event
LOS ANGELES - Oct. 17, 2014 - PRLog -- Entrepreneur Impact Day is a one-day event bringing together 11 Los Angeles based nonprofits with 11 LA startup teams to solve each nonprofit's pressing challenges. Entrepreneur Impact Day’s vision is to grow the global community around the culture that ‘doing good is good for business.’ The organization plans to expand to other cities by creating this annual day, with Los Angeles as the first stop.
The selected organizations will be hearing from renowned and inspirational speakers such as Keith Ferrazzi, Founder of Ferrazzi Greenlight, Tara Roth, President of Goldhirsh Foundation, Ryan Scott, of the Taproot Foundation, Kathy Eldon of the Creative Visions Foundation, Bryn Mooser of RYOT, Ryan Cummins of Omaze, Rich Ditizio of the Milken Institute (http://www.milkeninstitute.org/) Founded by business partners Rishi Roongta and Scott Hoyt of Wild Onions Labs, the two brought together a team of Los Angeles based entrepreneurs and advocates to build out their vision and show how much of an impact one day can have when you work together. "Our goal is to break down the silos that have traditionally separated the for-profit and nonprofit ecosystems. We want to build a community culture that aligns the motivations of social good and economic prosperity," During the day, nonprofits will be given access to a pool of talented individuals with forward thinking ideas to enact social good. Dawn Wilcox, Vice President, Corporate Sponsorships of the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles is grateful that Entrepreneur Impact Day has been created. “There is always a need in the nonprofit world - no matter the size of your organization – for outside, pro-bono support that brings together the best minds in the for-profit sector to help develop realistic, authentic solutions to our most pressing needs.” Other participants of Entrepreneur Impact Day include members from Pritzker Group Venture Capital, Core Innovation Capital, CAA Ventures, Karlin Ventures, Big Frame, and RKS Agency. By leveraging their teams' core competencies, startups are able to give back in an efficient way while contributing to their own culture. Roongta, co-founder of Entrepreneur Impact Day believes that a startup that gives will benefit from a better culture. “By facilitating a day for startups to give back using skills that they excel at, our community can accelerate social impact. A strengthened community of problem solvers, leaders, creators, and fundraisers will have far reaching and yet-to-be-imagined benefits for nonprofit and for-profit organizations alike.” The day will be spent at the Bel Air Day Club. Impact that will be made during the day will be celebrated at a post-event at Cross Campus (http://www.crosscamp.us/) For more information, please visit: http://www.impactday.net Startup Community Participants • Scopely • Telesign • Amplify • Mucker Capital • Science • HomeHero • Omaze • TheBouqs • Inventure • Klickly • ZEFR • MPulse • PicPlayPost • HutchMedia • Slate Studio Organization Participants • Children's Hospital LA • I Am Angel Foundation • Baby2Baby • NFTE • LA River Corporation • SeePolitical • Noreen Fraser Foundation • imagine1day • Los Angeles World Affairs Council • Children Mending Hearts • CityYear CONTACT: Natascha French The Workshop natascha@workshopcollective.com 310.714.6914 End
