“LIFE, LIBERY AND PURSUIT OF LAUGHTER” Fundraiser Benefits Military Charities on Oct.24

SAN DIEGO - Oct. 18, 2014 - PRLog -- Shelter to Soldier (STS), a San Diego-based 501c3 non-profit organization that rescues shelter dogs and trains them to become certified psychiatric service companions for post 9/11 U.S. combat Veterans suffering from PTSD (www.sheltertosoldier.org), will be one of three beneficiaries of funds raised at the “Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Laughter” fundraising event that will take place on Friday, October 24, 2014, at Liberty Station/Naval Training CenterMcMillin Event Center, located at 875 Dewey Road, San Diego, CA 92106 beginning at 6:30 pm. The event features comedy acts by Mark Christopher Lawrence, Dustin Nickerson and Anita Milner, while Channel 6 news anchor Marc Bailey will serve as Master of Ceremonies. Festivities include the USMC color guard showcasing Logan Edra performing the National Anthem, and a live auction as well as an opportunity drawing that will benefit active military personnel, veterans, and their families. The fundraiser is sponsored by A-1 Self Storage, HABIT, Lives of Promise (Charisse and Randy Kaufman),Nicole Frank, Coldwell Banker, Nine10 Photo, and Kristine Taylor Philanthropies.

Proceeds from the event will equally benefit Lives of Promise, Inc. (LOP) and Kristine Taylor Philanthropies (KTP) in addition to Shelter to Soldier. The mission LOP is to support and strengthen families facing challenging, life-altering circumstances. Special emphasis is placed on military families struggling with PTSD and other injuries that have life-altering effects. KTP has embarked on an active mission to improve the lives of those that have served our country by providing safe, affordable homes to both active duty and medically discharged or retired veterans. KTP also works with individuals battling life threateninghealth problems, to provide home security, and to foster hope through emotional, physical, and financialassistance.
