Summer Hill Films Goes Big with International Rights to ‘The Fat Boy Chronicles’

LOS ANGELES - Oct. 20, 2014 - PRLog -- Los Angeles, CA- Summer Hill Films, a worldwide film distribution sales company with international and domestic appeal, is pleased to announce its recent acquisition of Worldwide Rights (excluding U.S. and Canada) to The Fat Boy Chronicles, (http://summerhillfilms.com/fat-boy-chronicles/) an inspiring family film based on the international best-selling novel by the same name and inspired by a true story.

The Fat Boy Chronicles, written by Michael Buchanan and Diane Lang, the duo behind the best-selling novel, and directed by Jason Winn, is aboutan obese high school student forced to deal with self-image issues, bullying and a desire for self-improvement.  The Dove Foundation (http://www.dove.org/review/8373-the-fat-boy-chronicles/) gives the film its renowned stamp as “Family Approved” for 12+.

The foundation gives some great insight on the film and its execution of themes: “This is an intriguing story of the battles not only in Jimmy’s life and his fight to lose weight but also the conflicts that other teenage kids have in school. Phase 4 carries North American Rights to the picture and the International deal was negotiated between Summer Hill Films President Jon Bonnell and Writer/Producer Michael Buchanan.
