(Lake Worth, FL – October 16, 2014) The popular series CULTURE & COCKTAILS at The Colony Hotel returns for its 10th season with another timely and thought-provoking Conversation:

A Conversation with JAMES & SUE PATTERSON

James Patterson has sold 300 million books worldwide and holds the Guinness World Record for the most #1 New York Times Bestsellers. In 2013, one out of every five suspense/thriller novels sold was written by James Patterson. He has donated more than 500,000 books to soldiers at home and abroad and has awarded over $5 million dollars in Teacher Education Scholarships at 22 colleges and universities. Sue Patterson is an award-winning photographer working with her husband on a new documentary (Murder of a Small Town) about Belle Glade, Florida and Newburgh, New York, two of the most violent cities in the U.S.

Produced by the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County, CULTURE & COCKTAILS at The Colony will present Conversations with five fascinating couples this season: James & Sue Patterson on Nov. 3, Wilbur & Hilary Ross with Harry & Gigi Benson on Jan. 12, Jonathan Adler & Simon Doonan on Feb. 2, Charles & Clo Cohen on March 2, plus Tommy Tune, the Tony Award-winning star of Broadway’s My One and Only, on April 6.

Admission to each CULTURE & COCKTAILS event is $60 for advance RSVPs and $75 at the door, and FREE for members of the Cultural Council ($250 level and above). All proceeds go to support artist programs of the nonprofit Cultural Council of Palm Beach County. For membership information, please contact Debbie Calabria at 561.472.3330.

Each event runs from 5 to 7 p.m., with registration and cocktails from 5 to 5:45 p.m., and the “Conversation” from 5:45 to 7 p.m., including audience Q&A.

The Colony Hotel will serve complimentary beverages and an array of specially prepared hors d'oeuvres, plus free valet parking.  The center of Palm Beach society for more than 65 years, The Colony Hotel is located at 155 Hammon Avenue, just one block south of Worth Avenue and one block west of the Atlantic Ocean.

As an added bonus, attendees at any of the CULTURE & COCKTAILS events at The Colony Pavilion will be offered two-for-one drinks at the hotel’s celebrated Polo Steaks & Seafoods immediately following the Conversation.
