Follow on Google News | PYLGSA All Star Teams To Be Honored by City of Yorba LindaBy: PYLGSA The 12U team, managed by Brian Halterman, was the ASA Northern District runner-up and placed 9th out of 44 teams at the ASA National Championships in Roseville, CA. The 10U team, managed by Chuck Hilliard, was the ASA Northern District champion and placed 13th out of 42 teams at the ASA National Championships. The teams also participated in skills competitions during the weeklong tournament, with the 12U team winning the "Around the Horn" competition, and pitchers Calissa Stapp (12U) and Kaylee Barkley (10U) taking honors in the "fastest pitch" competition. ABOUT THE PLACENTA YORBA LINDA GIRLS SOFTBALL ASSOCIATION Established in 1970, the PYLGSA got its start as Bob Etts Softball. The PYLGSA has since earned a reputation as one of Southern California’s most respected leagues, winning a State championship in 2008, as well as many district championships throughout the years. For girls aged 5 years to 16 years, the PYLGSA is governed by the by the Southern California ASA and adheres to the rules and guidelines set forth by ASA/USA Softball.
