By: SPI Study Abroad ACTFL is an internationally- Each year, ACTFL holds an annual convention and expo that features over 600 educational sessions that cover many diverse aspects of foreign language teaching. This year’s convention will take place in San Antonio, TX, and will have a theme of Reaching Global Competence. SPI Study Abroad is proud to announce its participation in this year’s convention, which should prove to be an invigorating and enriching experience for those in the field. Of the convention, SPI’s Assistant Program Director, John Foster, said “ACTFL is an amazing opportunity for educators to gain professional development hours and acquaint themselves with new techniques that their colleagues are using in the classroom.” SPI is well-known for its high school study abroad programs, which place heavy importance on language immersion in order to gain a true, in-depth knowledge of the chosen language of study.
