PHOENIX - Oct. 24, 2014 - PRLog -- Arizona Summit Law School alumnus Kyle B. Fields was selected by Arizona Supreme Court Vice Chief Justice John Pelander to serve as his clerk for a one-year term beginning in August 2015. Mr. Fields, who graduated summa cum laude from Arizona Summit Law School in May 2014 and tied for earning the highest July state bar exam score, participated in the school’s part-time evening Juris Doctor Program.

“We are very proud of Kyle for securing this valuable clerkship with Vice Chief Justice Pelander,” said Dean Mays, Arizona Summit Law School.  “I had the pleasure of working with him as a student and know he will serve the Vice Chief Justice well as he strives to achieve his goal of earning a position on the bench one day,” she added.

Mr. Fields is currently serving as a judicial law clerk for Judge Maurice Portley on the Arizona Court of Appeals, Division I, which he began in August 2014. While attending law school in the evening, Mr. Fields served in various roles with Arizona courts. Mr. Fields started serving at the Maricopa County Superior Court as an intern for Commissioner Wendy Morton.  Later, he served as an intern at the Administrative Office of the Courts for four months and at the Arizona Supreme Court Staff Attorneys’ Office for six months.

Mr. Fields began his legal career in 2004 as a legal assistant for Jerold Kaplan Law Office, followed by positions with the Law Office of Joseph Musumeci and Scottsdale Law Group of McCue and Associates.

“I am grateful for Arizona Summit Law School’s part-time evening program because it gave me and other working professionals an opportunity to attend law school. But more importantly, Summit’s approach helped me develop deeper genuine relationships. Throughout the ebb and flow of law school, the faculty took time to remind us of the higher calling in the practice of law—having authentic relationships with everyone and serving those who society overlooks. Hopefully, I will have the opportunity to serve our state by serving on the bench one day.”

Prior to attending Arizona Summit Law, Mr. Fields received his B.S. in Global Business from Arizona State University, where he earned summa cum laude honors. Before starting his career in law, Mr. Fields served in the Arizona Army National Guard and attended the United States Military Academy Preparatory School.
