By: COMINT Consulting The most notable feature of Krypto500 v1.252 is a radar scope for the PIRS PEARCE air defense modem, which allows real-time plotting of all air tracks. The display is identical to the one seen by the Air Defense commander and in real time. This tactical scenario view is a first of its kind in a COMINT application. A similar display feature was added for the new MVU-2xx series modem decoders, and allows for immediate display of ship positions using geographical information servers (GIS) such as Google Earth. In roughly 24 months, the Krypto500 software has been upgraded with compatibility for more than 240 receivers and direction finders, it contains nearly 4,000 classifiers, and it offers more than twice as many mode decoders as any SIGINT software currently available. “As targets of interest get more evasive and creative with their transmissions, we need to have the capability to identity them and keep tabs on them,” said the COMINT Consulting technology director. “Reducing the unknowns is the name of the game.” Other new features of this Krypto500 update include: · MVU-202 decoder – an HF / VHF burst modem used by specific ships · MVU-211 decoder – an HF/VHF burst modem used by specific ships · An HTTP Server and complete support for real-time output and plotting on Google Earth as position data is extracted from the MVU-2xx modems · Autocab ver D decoder – the Autocab decoder module now also supports a newer variation of this VHF Mobile Data Terminal · Auriga decoder – a VHF Mobile Data Terminal · File player support for the Dynamic Signals / Signatec Digitizers’ .srdc and .rd16 file format COMINT Consulting will also be releasing Krypto1000—its collection, analysis and classification software for signals wider than 48 kHz—in the first quarter of 2015.
