Parents, Teachers Choose Meebie 2014 Plush Toy of the Year

EAGAN, Minn. - Oct. 30, 2014 - PRLog -- Small Minnesota toy company, Orkid Toys, LLC, receives big honor with their toy Meebie, named 2014 Plush Toy of the Year by Creative Child Magazine, for the Creative Plush category. The awards are given based on the reviews, scores, and comments of over 100 participants: moms, educators and early childhood professionals.

“We know kids love our Meebie, but it is a big honor to be recognized by the very people who devote their lives to kids development, the parents and teachers,” says Ginny Campbell, owner of Orkid Toys, LLC.

Orkid Toys, LLC and Campbell went through many tough hurdles to make their beloved toy, Meebie. Basically a one-woman shop, (with, Campbell admits, substantial outside support) Campbell, the toy’s creator, tackled finding a reputable manufacturer, navigated extensive toy safety regulations and testing, built financing, obtained importing and freighting, and managed delays. She kept her growing group of backers and supporters updated on progress via email, and was buoyed by the continuous goodwill given to her and the toy.

With emerging awareness around the need to support children's emotional health, Campbell is grateful that Meebie is receiving the accolade at this time. “Children’s and families’ overall health is key.
