By: LA Femme Inc. Raising Sparrows follows Randy Sorenson, Valerie Sorenson (his wife of 30 years) and Ben Sorenson (his son) as he pursues a life-long dream of sailing around the world by building a fifty-six foot wooden schooner from scratch on his Midwestern farm. Randy’s vision and passion fuels this endeavor at great cost to his family unit. Milling the lumber from trees off of his land, Randy puts aside everything he holds dear, against all odds with criticisms from his friends and his local town’s people questioning his sanity. Randy’s family may not survive until he launches his boat in Lake Superior in Duluth, Minnesota. Raising Sparrows is Samuel Mueller’s (Director) first feature-length documentary. He comes from a broadcasting background working on features and commercials with a Major in Television Broadcast and Minor in Film fromSaint Cloud State University, Minnesota. Adam Lesar (Producer) has produced award-winning films including Drain Desert Tanner which played at Cannes and aired on NBC. Adam earned his BA in Film and Theatre from St. Cloud State University, Minnesota. He is currently in development, on an action/horror film which made Hollywood's “Blood List” of best unproduced horror scripts. Scott Kosloski (Producer) grew up in Central Minnesota where he studied Anthropology. Scott built his own Art Gallery, UpFront Gallery Fargo, with local Art Masters Students in North Dakota. Original Music for Raising Sparrows was composed by Grammy winner Josh Sklair (Best Traditional Blues Album Blues To The Bone, Best Contemporary Blues Album Let's Roll).
