Follow on Google News | Movie Star Cask Unveiled At Famous DistilleryBy: Volpa The Bottle Your Own single cask series are hand-picked as exceptional casks from the Glenturret Distillery by The Famous Grouse Master Blender, Gordon Motion. These are extremely collectable and the bottles from these casks are exclusive to the Glenturret Distillery shop. This new star-studded Glenturret single malt cask is the second in a series of Famous offerings which started with a limited edition Earl and Countess of Strathearn Cask, bottled first by the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge on their visit to the Distillery earlier this year. The first ever Bottle Your Own was donated to the Scottish Mountain Rescue at the Prince’s request for them to auction for charitable fundraising purposes. A popular choice, this cask sold out quickly after proving a big hit with visitors. The team at the Experience have now decided to celebrate other ‘Famous’ characters from the local area, as well as their very own Famous Grouse. Also continuing with the Bottle Your Own series’ links with charity, £2 from every bottle sold from the Ewan McGregor Cask will be donated to a charity of Ewan’s choice. This is yet another innovative launch for the world’s oldest whisky distillery after an exciting year which, as well as the hugely successful Royal visit, has seen a major refurbishment of the site and new additions to the award-winning visitor attraction. Lesley Williamson, Business Development Manager at The Famous Grouse Experience at Glenturret Distillery said: “After the massive popularity of The Earl & Countess of Strathearn Cask this year, the team at the Experience thought why not celebrate some more of the famous icons that have originated from this part of Scotland? Ewan McGregor was born here in Crieff and his success is something we are delighted to honour by naming our latest Glenturret single malt cask after him. We hope he can come and see the cask for himself at our Bottle Your Own Experience soon. He would be most warmly welcomed.” The Earl and Countess of Strathearn’s visit captured the public’s imagination and the cask in their name enabled visitors to take away a memento of their famous tour. Lesley is confident that The Ewan McGregor Cask will have a similar effect and could be popular this Christmas too. Lesley adds: “We recently had a visitor who was so impressed with The Earl & Countess of Strathearn Cask that she bought 10 bottles as Christmas presents for all her family. She literally emptied the cask, so we are looking forward to seeing if our latest ‘Famous’ bottle will also prove to be a popular gift idea for the festive season.” For further information on visiting The Famous Grouse Experience at Glenturret Distillery and to book your tour, visit www.thefamousgrouse.com ---ENDS--- For further information on this news release, please contact Tricia Fox, Volpa, Tel: 07989 955039 or 01738 658187, Email: t.fox@volpa.co.uk Notes to Editors About The Famous Grouse Experience The Famous Grouse Experience is located at Scotland’s oldest working distillery – Glenturret.
