Follow on Google News | ![]() KADS NY presents international exhibition Celebrating Print 2014By: KADS NY Selected by New York-based artist and printmaker Eva Nikolova, Celebrating Print 2014 introduces thirty-three projects by twenty-four artists from the CzechRepublic, Slovakia, Germany and the USA. The selection represents a variety of printmaking techniques, including traditional intaglio, relief, stone lithography, silkscreen, monotype and collage. The Celebrating Print 2014 artists are: Anneli Arms, Roman Balaz, Lukas Freytag, Ladislav Hanka, Radoslava Hrabovska, Jana Hubatkova, Kama Jackowska, Bara Jichova, Magda Korsinsky, Michael Kukla, Robert Kuzidlo, Lucie Lucanska, Dita Maleckova, Livia Mezovska, Milos Michalek, Martin Mulac, Dusan Pacuch, Sylva Pauli, Lenka Rochovanska, Andrea Safarikova, Kamila Stanclova, Helena Stouracova, Darina Vybohova, and Tomas Zemla. Highlights of the exhibition include Kamila Stanclova’s mysterious etchings “Compliment is Something like a Kiss Through the Veil (V.Hugo)” and “Dance with Wolves”, Jana Hubatkova’s multicolor gestural lithographs “Toward the Stone” and “Water into Water”, Magda Korsinsky’s silkscreen “Bond” and Milos Michalek’s layered wood print “One”, among others. The Celebrating Print 2014 Challenge: Homage to Jiri Kolar features paper objects by seven New York-based printmakers, print instructors and Master Printers: ArnoldBrooks, Pepe Coronado, Vijay Kumar, Katerina Kyselica, Paula Praeger, Moses Ros-Suarez and Larry Schulte. Five sought-after intaglio prints by renowned Czech artist Jiri Anderle, including “Girl with a Pearl Necklace, After Vermeer” (1981) and “Monsieur Riviere Entre Nous” (1975), will be on view in an adjacent exhibition space, accompanied by etchings by Jindrich Pilecek and a surrealistic lithograph by Josef Liesler. Eva Nikolova, CPC 2014 Juror, is a Bulgarian-born, New York city-based visual artist, printmaker and curator. She holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Printmaking from IndianaUniversity, Bloomington. Her work has been exhibited nationally as well as in England, Canada, Scotland, and India. It has received numerous awards and is in the permanent collections of the New Orleans Museum of Art, TempleUniversity, The Amity Art Foundation, Manhattan Graphics Center, Arkansas State University, and others.
