Follow on Google News | Polo’s Top Women Players in Houston This Week for the USPA U.S. Open Women’s Polo ChampionshipPlaying for the USPA Women’s Polo Championship trophy this year are the following teams and players: San Saba/Shanghai: BTA: Brianna Galindo,KC Krueger, Sheila Lequerica, Lia Salvo Northern Trust: Maureen Brennan, Julia Smith, Sarah Wiseman, Claire Brougham Land Rover: Cecelia Cochran, Karen Reese, Erica Gandomcar-Sachs, Tiffany Busch “The United States Polo Association U.S. Women’s Polo Championship historically features extremely talented athletes, exceptional teamwork, and the great traditions, courage, and sophistication of polo,” said Peter Rizzo, CEO of the United States Polo Association. “Women constitute one of the fastest growing parts of the polo-playing community and through this tournament we celebrate those who are playing the sport at the highest level, and who inspire all who play to their very best.” The tournament’s host club, the Houston Polo Club (HPC), was founded in 1928 and has become the largest USPA member club in the nation. The club hosts 2 through 12‐goal polo tournaments during the fall and spring seasons. HPC is also a recognized USPA Regional Polo Center (RPC) and provides a full‐service polo school, junior polo events, and year‐round boarding and riding lessons. The USPA established the RPC program as a network of the most prominent polo centers around the country that train polo players, umpires, managers and others. They also support other clubs nearby and provide resources in an effort to enhance USPA membership.
