Reggae fusion artist Oriel Barry was presented with his very first award as an artist this week. The 2014 "Best Single" award was given to him because his single 'Confidence' was the best selling release on the Forbes Music Inc. roster in 2014. Oriel has seen sales in 6 different countries including the United States, Canada, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and the UK in the past three months alone. He is also doing very well on networks like Spotify with listeners in 12 different countries tuning in.


“I'm just honored that someone has decided to recognize my hard work” says Oriel when asked how does receiving this award make him feel. “but we still must continue to work harder, there is always room for improvement” he continued. An understandable statement, as he out sold all other Forbes Music Inc. artists, still he has a ways to go to catch up with the mainstream industry.

We shall not forget though all of the hardwork that goes into creating a sales market as an independent artist. With reggae music things are all the more difficult, but he has managed to conquer all obstacles. Oriel Barry is currently ranked in the top 10 artists in the world for reggae fusion artists on google.
