Columbia City Ballet Presents “Ballet Uncorked: The Nutcracker” Sponsored by Jaguar Columbia

COLUMBIA, S.C. - Nov. 7, 2014 - PRLog -- Lovers of ballet from throughout the Midlands will want to attend the Columbia City Ballet’s “Ballet Uncorked” event on Saturday, November 8 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This unique fundraising event will be a great way to kick off the holiday season as the public is invited to come sample some fine wines and watch a special open studio rehearsal for the upcoming Columbia City Ballet performance of The Nutcracker. The “Ballet Uncorked” wine tasting and open studio rehearsal will take place at the Columbia City Ballet studios, located at 1545 Main St. in Columbia. Local ballet enthusiasts and arts supporters are in for a real treat as they will have the chance to mingle with the dancers and the artistic staff while enjoying the fine wine and hors d’oeuvres that will be served. But the highlight of the evening will be the opportunity to witness an intimate behind-the-scenes rehearsal of The Nutcracker ballet, along with a lecture by William Starrett, Artistic Director for Columbia City Ballet.

Admission to the “Ballet Uncorked” event is a mere $5, which will go directly to support the Columbia City Ballet Educational Outreach Series. Offering audiences from across the Southeast with high-quality ballet performances, Columbia City Ballet also provides professional dance training and currently boasts a company of 30 professional dancers, with more than 2,000 season members. Now in their 53rd season, they will be performing in 15 cities across three states and are scheduling 18 full-length performances at the Koger Center for the Arts on the University of South Carolina campus.
