First American Trust New Presenting Sponsor Of Walk To End Alzheimer’s Nov. 15 At Angel Stadium

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Nov. 11, 2014 - PRLog -- First American Trust, a wholly owned subsidiary of First American Financial Corporation , proudly announced today that it has signed on to be the Presenting Sponsor of the 2014 Walk To End Alzheimer’s® at Angel Stadium in Anaheim. The Nov. 15 event, the final and largest among the four Alzheimer’s Association fundraising walks in Orange County, will feature a strong contingent of First American Trust employees leading the Walk under the name “Ramona and Friends,” including First American Trust’s Jody Hudson, vice president and relationship manager and an Alzheimer’s Association, Orange County chapter (AAOC) board member.

First American Trust has enjoyed close ties to AAOC for a number of years, partly due to the support from Hudson, a Tustin resident, who has been exposed to the realities of Alzheimer’s disease both professionally and personally. Hudson, who administers trust and investment accounts for high net-worth individuals, has seen numerous clients face an Alzheimer’s diagnosis and her father has exhibited Alzheimer’s symptoms for nearly 10 years.

“When my family has needed it most, the Alzheimer’s Association has been an invaluable resource. My clients, too, have been fortunate to find help through the organization’s invaluable program and services. I am proud that First American Trust has assumed the Presenting Sponsor role and I, personally, am thrilled to take such an active role at the walk,” said Hudson.

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is a series of inspiring events aimed at raising funds and awareness for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. It is the largest such event in the world, taking place in 600 communities around the globe. The Angel Stadium Walk will be one of the largest in Southern California and its walkers will enjoy the path adjacent to the field inside the stadium.

“Having First American Trust step to the plate at Angel Stadium has everyone here at the Alzheimer’s Association very excited,” said Jim McAleer, president and CEO of AAOC. “We love our relationship with First American Trust, and are fortunate to have Jody at the helm of many AAOC initiatives.” Hudson was named the 2014 Alzheimer’s Volunteer Partner of the Year, an award presented at the organization’s gala earlier this year.

Alzheimer’s Association statistics reveal that 5.4 million Americans live with Alzheimer’s disease, and that number is expected to triple by 2050. To date, no cure is in sight. Alzheimer’s is the sixth-leading cause of death nationally and the fourth-leading cause in Orange County.
