ACTE announce high performance, low power Wi-Fi module for embedded Internet of Things applications

BASINGSTOKE, U.K. - Nov. 14, 2014 - PRLog -- LPB100 is a self contained, small form factor,  801.11b/g/n Wi-Fi module offering data rates up to 54Mbps and capable of operating on the globally licence exempt 2.4GHz frequency. LPB100 provides a wireless interface to equipment with a Serial/SPI interface for data, audio or SmartLink transfer.

Using the latest low power consumption embedded architecture which allows 12mA average transmit current at 3.3V, multiple low power standby modes and a receiver sensitivity up to -93dBm, LPB100 has been optimised for multiple client applications in Internet of Things (IoT) applications. These include home automation, smart grid, battery operated handheld equipment, healthcare and industrial control that transmit or receive data on an infrequent basis.

Measuring just 23x32x2.7mm and in a postage stamp SMT package, the LPB100 is cost optimised with either a PCB track antenna or I-PEX connector for external antenna. In addition to data, audio support is offered as standard.

LPB100 includes all the protocol and configuration functions for Wi-Fi connectivity and modules can be configured for both access point, serial port or a combination of the two. Using a single stream Wi-Fi link, LPB100 supports WPA/WPA2 security.

Designed for use in both industrial and consumer applications, LPB100 is designed for long product life cycles offering backwards compatibility for future devices in the High Flying LPB range. LPB100 is capable of operating at -40 to +85˚C.

LPB100 is FCC and CE certified and is RoHS compliant.
