edge - book of poetry by Jodde Maree

Did we ever exist at all When I first followed you home And every sun surrounded your face And yes, I was there Watching you burn brightly Allowing time to fade slowly Where all ashes go to forgive themselves!...

BRUSSELS - Nov. 15, 2014 - PRLog -- Jodde Maree has been writing short stories, poems and lyrics since the age of thirteen. Due to traumatic circumstances she did not have the time to fully focus on writing until, about two months before the publication of this book, when she decided that the time had come for her to express herself through poetry, stories and lyrics writing. A publishing contract offered by Paramount Music was declined as the company requested all copyrights, and Jodde Maree decided to get herself published through an independent publisher.

...dedicated to Joaquin Phoenix:
"Think where man's glory begins and ends..."

- William Butler Yeats

Simple Beat...

Clop! Clop!
Like a horse drawn cart,
Your parody
Keeps dragging me around;
My head does not
Touch the ground,
Still alive
But still barely dead;
Your screams reach
Every fantasy
As night crawls upon
Empty streets;
Left by longing,
Did I dodge another bullet?
Please let it go straight ahead.
May all destinations
Take away your sentences..
