NEW YORK - Nov. 17, 2014 - PRLog -- Agnes Davis, CEO of swim swim swim I SAY (sssIS, www.swimswimswimisay.com), the only female owned and operated swimming company based in Upper Manhattan servicing Harlem and the Bronx wants to wish everyone a bountiful and healthy holiday season. The mission of sssIS is to introduce healthy habits to students in and out of the water while encouraging changes to reduce diabetes, hypertension and drowning in all races, ethnic groups with an emphasis on African-American and Hispanic families. Davis says, “With the New Year festivities and resolutions being planned, my personal mission is to encourage a healthy lifestyle; incorporate fitness like walking or swimming lessons into one’s routine while encouraging family bonding which ultimately transform mind, body and soul.”

According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), swimming is the fourth most popular sports activity in the United States and an exceptional way to get regular aerobic physical activity. Swimming can lead to improved health for people coupled with increase mortality.

Swim swim swim I SAY (sssIS) has been making a splash this year as it relates to health and wellness. The company started with 3 students (2009), and, today has over 100 clients along with a talented team of 8 instructors. Davis’ brand is also attracting partnerships from notable advocacy groups: Autism Awareness and the Make-A-Splash Foundation for her dedication to teaching swimming as an empowerment tool.

As quoted on the popular lifestyle blog, SheRunsIt.com, Davis talks about her Fear of Water to Loving the Water curriculum and said, “When I first began swim swim swim I SAY with just one other instructor, we kept coming across students with fear of water. Whether it’s a child or an adult, a thread of similarities presented itself. All of these students had problems with getting their faces wet, even in a shower; washing their hair would be a nightmare if water touched their faces, and water splashing produced a knee jerk response of flinching. So from those encounters, we knew the swimmers had to be addressed and treated very differently. Teaching fear of water students in a 1-on-1 class setting is not a flexible point and the only way someone will get over their fear.”

Agnes Davis’ dedication is being noticed by the media with features in popular outlets: AOL Parenting; Yahoo News; SiriusXM radio; WPIX-11, ABC-TV, NBC Today Weekend, The Daily Beast, Jones Magazine, SheRunsIt, The Network Journal, MadameNoire, ABC-TV, DNAinfo, MommyNoire, Black Enterprise, WBLSFM-Steve Harvey Morning, The Network Journal and Bronx Net.

sssIS wishes everyone a safe and healthy Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah and Happy New Year!
