Follow on Google News | Ken Sletten Of Level 10 Construction Receives Inaugural Legacy Award From ENR CaliforniaSletten will receive the award at ENR’s Best Projects Award banquet in San Francisco December 2nd at the Intercontinental Hotel. “We are very pleased that ENR has named Ken Sletten to receive its first Legacy Award in Northern California,” Sletten, who entered the construction industry in 1956, co-founded Rudolph and Sletten with Onslow “Rudy” Rudolph in 1961, and the firm soon became known as “the contractor that built Silicon Valley.” Rudolph and Sletten built the first chip-plating facilities, clean rooms and corporate campuses for the original tech giants such as Fairchild Semiconductor, Memorex, Xerox, Intel, Hewlett-Packard, AMD, National Semiconductor and Apple. Sletten helped to pioneer new construction techniques that still serve as a template for the industry today, including preconstruction services, fast-track scheduling and guaranteed maximum price delivery. Sletten retired from Rudolph and Sletten several years before the company was purchased by Tutor Perini Corporation in 2005. Ken Sletten has since joined many past colleagues at Level 10 Construction, where he is the Managing Director of the Advisory Board. The firm has grown exponentially since 2011. The Computer History Museum in Mountain View has recently archived Ken Sletten’s contributions to the technology industry (http://www.computerhistory.org/ Known for his belief in giving back to the community, Sletten served on the Board of Habitat for Humanity for over a decade and was responsible for the construction of over 300 homes. He has also served on many other Bay Area non-profit boards, including the Children’s Health Council in Palo Alto, the Peninsula Family YMCA, the Palo Alto Club, Menlo School Board, Stanford DAPER Investment Fund and Stanford Athletics.
