During the show, a study from University College London in 2011 by Tomohiro Ishizu and Semir Zeki, Toward A Brain-Based Theory of Beauty (http://www.plosone.org/ Ishizu and Zeki theorized that there is one specific area of the brain responsible for recognizing beauty and responds to that beauty with feelings of joy. This study was designed to trigger and identify that special area of the brain. During the experiment they worked with both visual beauty (art) and auditory beauty (music) with twenty-one subjects. The results demonstrated that blood flow increased 10% to that sweet part of our brains that creates joy and positive feelings.
