Change is Vintage Opening Reception

BELMAR, N.J. - Dec. 9, 2014 - PRLog -- Change is Vintage is pleased to present Subtle Shifts, a solo exhibition of work by Amanda Heidel. Please join us on Saturday December 13th, from 7pm-9pm for the exhibition opening and to get a chance to meet the artist.

In the exhibition, Heidel presents a series of work that is made up of expanded versions of her past works of art. Each piece embodies these modifications exploring slight changes in perception.  Heidel refers to these subtle shifts as ways of refining and adapting to challenges that she faces in her work ranging from space, time and materials. She believes that these simple, resourceful shifts in each piece slowly led to this series, bringing her into a new territory of sculpture art. Heidel expresses herself using found objects and fiber to create inventive sculptures.

Amanda Heidel splits her time between New York City and Bradley Beach, New Jersey. She has been exhibiting her sculptures and installations at galleries and alternative art spaces throughout New York City. Recently, she had a solo exhibition, Duality , which explored the masculine and feminine dichotomy through sculpture form, at chashama’s, a non-profit art organization, window gallery space in Chelsea.

This is the first time she is exhibiting her work in New Jersey. Amanda has been awarded a residency program for the month of January 2015 in India where she will be learning wood block printing, miniature painting, Indian folk art, and blue pottery.
