Follow on Google News | Workshop on Entrepreneurial skills’ at Greater Noida Institute of TechnologyBy: Brannia Shankar Murlidharan said that by 2020, India will emerge as one of the youngest countries with work population with 64% of its population. With this huge potential India can mark a benchmark in its groth. Students focusing on entrepreneurship are likely to start their own business and can earn 20-30% more than students taking up jobs. But they also need to understand the pros and cons of entrepreneurship. This can happen with sound industrial exposure and proper guidance. K.L. Gupta said that b- schools have a responsibility of nurturing entrepreneurship at an early stage. This could be achieved through regular workshops, training, industry visits and development programs. We have taken steps to develop skills and make students employable. The world is digitizing and we also need to mould our curriculum accordingly. Shankar Muralidharan tried to overcome the fear of failure from students’ mind. He focussed on the importance of awareness and risk assessment. Risks come along with opportunities. He said that the first step is to find your ‘the idea’ for your business. Many times people get confused between the idea and hobby. You also need to identify your strength, ideation, planning, set your goal. Setting up the right time, planning the financial crunch, gearing up operationally and other finer details were discussed. Documentary on success stories and reason of failures were also shown and discussed with students. This proved to be very beneficial. Queries were raised by the students and faculty members. In the end K.L. Gupta, with thanks note, ended the knowledgeable session. For more Information, please visit www.gniotgroup.edu.in P:91-11-25843161 End
