ATLANTA - Dec. 18, 2014 - PRLog -- Atlanta, Ga. (Dec. 18, 2014) – An all-star lineup of Atlanta area musicians are planning a Christmas rock opera that is guaranteed to lift holiday spirits while ringing your ears into the New Year.

Will Turpin's “Rock The Cradle – A Live Christmas Rock Opera” returns on Sunday, Dec. 21, to the Refuge City Church @ 7 Stages Theatre, 1105 Euclid Ave. NE, Atlanta. This year will see the incorporation of a second show due to the overwhelming response in 2013. Show times are 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.

“Rock the Cradle is a concert event celebrating the best of Christmas songs with a rock and roll twist,” said Turpin, an Atlanta-based music veteran, co-founder of the multi-platinum band Collective Soul and creator of the show. “Throughout the concert a narrative will be brought out … one that helps us remember why we so desperately need Christmas.”

In addition to Turpin (keyboards and vocals) the musical lineup also includes Jason Fowler (lead guitar and vocals), Chad Fowler (percussion and symbols), Calvin Kelly (percussionist), Mark Wilson (bass), Steven Neill (saxophone), Andy Bray (acoustic guitar) and Shane Evans, Collective Soul's former drummer. The 65-minute repertoire will include a diverse selection of Christmas and rock tunes featuring “Joy to the World”, “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”, “Happy Xmas (War is Over)”, “Little Drummer Boy” and Turpin’s solo version of “What Child is This?”, which appeared on the compilation “A Rock By The Sea Christmas Vol. 3” (Hubbub! Music, 2012).

Event Producer and Refuge City Church Pastor Jason Becker said “Rock the Cradle” features world-class musicians and a state-of-the-art stage production for a nominal fee.

“We are so excited to have these great musicians come into our church and volunteer their talents to celebrate this great season of faith. A season that marks the birth of our savior and the beginning of redemption,” Becker said.

Net proceeds from the show will benefit Kensley Grace Aquatic Center (http://kensleygrace.com/) and Speedway Children's Charities (http://speedwaycharities.org/). The show is all ages and admission is $10 per show.
