As you are aware that india is expected to rank amongst the top three pharmaceutical markets in terms of incremental growth by 2020 & India is the sixth largest market globally in terms of size, India’s generic drugs account for 20% of global exports in terms of volume, making the country the largest provider of generic medicines globally. This is a historic opportunity for you to invest india & deliver quality medicines to the every nook & corner of the country.” While Complimenting the initiatives of the Pharmaleaders Media which is hosting the historic 7th Annual Pharmaceutical Leadership Summit & Pharmaleaders Business Leadership Awards 2014. India’s drug industry to touch $48 billion by 2018 Industry may see growth on back of patent expiry of some blockbuster drugs in US and local demand. India’s drugs and pharmaceuticals industry is likely to post total sales of Rs.2.91 trillion ($47.88 billion) by 2018, with an average yearly growth of at least 14%, aided by a rapidly growing domestic market and the newly emerging export opportunity as patents of at least a dozen blockbuster drugs in the US expire in the next three years. “During 2014-2016, about $92 billion worth patented drugs are expected to go off patent in the US as compared with $65 billion during 2010-12, as per the research study by Pharmaleaders.” Addressing the media, Satya Brahma, the chairman of the Pharmaleaders 2014 meet said “the vibrant Indian pharmaceutical sector growing at a rapid pace will get a bigger boost with the message from the Minister of Chemicals & Fertilizers as India’s crucial concerns in the area of regulatory hurdles, pricing issues, Foreign Direct Investments, Labour Reforms & host of other challenges is set to make a complete makeover in coming days looking at the positive initiatives of the central government & is likely to attract foreign players in india to invest in manufacturing” The Award ceremony is scheduled at 07.00 PM on 26th December 2014 onwards at the Grand Jade Room of Hotel sahara Star, Mumbai, India.
