Is Free-2-Win the new Free-2-Play?

TORONTO - Dec. 20, 2014 - PRLog -- WINR Games Inc. (winrgames.com) announced last week that they have now opened up their Big Time mobile application, to users in the US, UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.

Big Time is the first app where playing free games can result in a weekly cash prize, Free-2-Win.  Players choose from 5 different mini games and then collect star tickets throughout gameplay. Sundays at 8pm ET a single ticket is drawn at random and the “WINR” is eligible for a cash prize.  The prize has already risen to $1000, and is funded through the advertising revenue brought in by the app.  As more users play the app, the cash prize will continue to rise.

“We are thrilled to have our product available internationally” said WINR Games’ 26-year-old founder Jeremy Zuckerman.  “While we are primarily testing our product in English speaking markets right now, we hope to be available to all countries by Q2 2015”. Zuckerman is a first time entrepreneur and left his job as a management consultant to pursue his dream of building mobile games.

Surprisingly, unlike other successful apps, Big Time does not offer in-app purchases.  It is truly 100% free to participate in the weekly contests.  This seems to be the first time where mobile gamers are getting rewarded for doing what they do best, playing games.

Other industry giants such as King.com (Candy Crush) or Supercell (Clash of Clans) have yet to make a public comment on the new gaming model. The introduction of Big Time’s new model should make for a very interesting 2015 in the world of mobile gaming.  After all, who doesn’t want to win cash for playing free games?
