Downloading Apps Through CauseTap Benefits Nonprofits

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - Dec. 29, 2014 - PRLog -- A new mobile app, CauseTap, lets users support nonprofit causes by downloading fun and useful apps. There is no extra cost to participate and no donation involved.

When users download apps from the app store via CauseTap, participating apps pay a fee, and the lion’s share goes to causes. Causes benefit even when users download free apps, as the fee is not related to the purchase price of an app.

Users can support one or multiple causes, from local schools to national nonprofits, such as ALS Association, DoSomething.org, Kiva.org, and Save the Children.

Each cause offers a unique app discovery experience, enabling supporters to explore new and relevant apps within their own community of people with shared values. Users browse apps recommended by their cause and popular among other supporters. All types of free and paid apps are featured, from games and entertainment to education and productivity.

“We wanted CauseTap to be accessible to people who may not have the time or financial means to support the causes they care about,” said CauseTap co-founder Andrea Nylund. “CauseTap empowers individuals at the grassroots level, while providing nonprofits with a tool for growing support networks, and apps a new channel for engaging users.”

To increase positive social impact, CauseTap enables users to rally friends to support their favorite causes. The app displays a running tally of individual and collective impact. CauseTap is the mobile complement to a school bake sale or a walk-run for a cure.
