Pricol is acquiring Melling do Brazil

Dec. 30, 2014 - PRLog -- In its first ever foreign acquisition, auto instruments major Pricol is buying Melling do Brazil, which makes oil and water pumps, cold start valves and aluminum castings, for an undisclosed amount. Pricol is buying the 99.99% stake held by owners in the unlisted Melling in an all-cash deal that would be accomplished by January.

This deal is being made through Pricol Espana, Pricol's exclusively owned Spanish subsidiary. The takeover is being funded through a mix of internal growths and commitment. Melling had revenues of 301.1 crore. Pricol said that Melling would make profits with confident cash flows from next year.

The Coimbatore based Pricol, which had revenues of 891 crore in 2013-14, would also infuse new capital in the acquired body. Melling has an important presence in Brazil and is among the top-2 major players in the market for oil and water pumps used in vehicles.
