Smartphone & Twitter Training Highlight Havana BID Wireless Phone Phenom Event

AURORA, Colo. - Dec. 30, 2014 - PRLog -- Denver and Aurora shoppers who unwrapped an iPhone, Droid or Windows Phone are invited to the Havana Business Improvement District’s (BID) Wireless Phone Phenom Event (http://www.onhavanastreet.com/denver-events.cfm), 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturday, January 17, 2015, in the AT&T Phone Store at The Gardens on Havana.

The Havana BID, aka On Havana Street, is partnering with member merchants AT&T and T-Mobile and Denver marketing agency Webolutions to help Aurora shoppers understand ways their new phones can make their lives more enjoyable. Experts from AT&T and T-Mobile will be on hand to demonstrate ways to save battery power, use free mobile apps to share files and maintain a digital datebook, make recommendations for family-friendly gaming and stay connected through Facebook and other social media.

“If your new year’s resolution is to get organized, this is a great opportunity,” said Havana BID Executive Director Gayle Jetchick. “And we have a bona fide social media professional lined up to get people ready for our big Tweet Tweet It’s Spring Twitter Hidden Cash Event, which is coming in March.”

On March 21, 2015, the Havana BID will conduct a digital scavenger hunt. Clues will be “tweeted” from the @OnHavanaStreet Twitter account. To win the grand cash prize, participants will follow the clues to find the hidden object and will be required to take a “selfie”—a picture of themselves with the object—and post it on Twitter using a custom Hashtag. At the January 17, 2015, Wireless Phone Phenom Event, Webolutions Director of New Media Strategies Mike Hanbery will explain Twitter fundamentals including everything needed to participate in the March Hidden Cash Event. The January event will include a fun practice run for the March event.
