New Wave of Agile and Scrum Project Management Training Rolls into Hawaii

New Oahu based firm offers Hawaiian companies the ability to stay on the Island when it comes to high-quality expertise and cost-effective training for Agile project management methodologies, including Scrum.

KAILUA, Hawaii - Jan. 5, 2015 - PRLog -- Cape Project Management, Inc. of Boston, MA has opened an office on Oahu and is now offering public and onsite Agile and Scrum training classes in Honolulu.

“We’re very excited to have opened an Agile consulting and training office here in Hawaii,” says Dan Tousignant, president of Cape Project Management. “There’s a great opportunity to provide Agile training to the high-tech businesses that operate here and we’re committed to becoming a valued member of the community both through the quality of our business offering and through our willingness to serve. Our first public training is on January 19th at the DoubleTree in Waikiki. We already have participants coming from three of the Island’s major IT firms and we’re expecting many more.”

Agile project management is the fastest growing method to improve project success, particularly at IT organizations. This popular process is the missing ingredient for those companies trying to do more with less. Instead of focusing on bells and whistles, it advocates key principles such as delivering products early and often, and ensuring that every product release is built on business value. Scrum, Extreme Programming, Kanban, and Lean are approaches to Agile project management which have been gaining a foothold in IT organizations for the last ten years thanks to a grassroots movement based on success stories and a tremendous internet following.

“Scrum project management is the most popular Agile methodology,” says Tousignant, who recently moved to Oahu from Boston to offer Agile training and consulting in Hawaii. “Scrum was founded in Boston about 20 years ago and most IT organizations there are already implementing it or another Agile methodology. There are still plenty of Hawaiian businesses that have yet to adopt Agile and we’re excited to help them capitalize on its opportunities by offering top-of-the-line training and consulting.”

Honolulu companies will benefit in other ways, too. With access to locally based Agile trainers and consultants, companies will no longer have to send their employees to the mainland for training. “The cost of training will actually be more affordable in Hawaii than in Boston,” notes Tousignant. “Due to the significant number of hotels hosting events in Honolulu, we’re able to get competitive rates on our training rooms and then pass lower pricing on to our course participants.”

The next public training offered by Cape Project Management is Scrum Master Certification on January 19th and 20th at the DoubleTree by Hilton Alana Waikiki. A list of all public trainings is available at the new Cape Project Management website at: (http://www.HawaiiAgile.com/agile_training.html).
