An Interview With T. Greenwood About A New Novel Writing Certificate Program

Jan. 8, 2015 - PRLog -- One way for aspiring novel writers to get a start on their writing goals in the new year is to be a part of the just launched Certificate in Novel Writing Program through San Diego Writers, Ink.  The plan consists of taking workshops and participating in writing sessions and is headed by an accomplished and award winning author, T. Greenwood.  The first workshop, Novel Writing 1 with T. Greenwood, starts January 31.

San Diego Writers, Ink thought would-be novelists might like to get to know T. Greenwood a little better.  Here’s what she has to say about writer’s block, being a successful writer and other fun facts.

San Diego Writers, Ink (SDWI):

What do you think is the one major block that writers have when writing a novel?

T. Greenwood (TG):

I think a lot of people have novels inside of them, but they have no idea where to start. And so despite having wonderful ideas, they feel paralyzed in front of the blank page. The novel series of workshops is basically like having someone hold your hand and walk you through the process: from conception to completion.

SDWI:

What are some traits of successful authors?

TG:

Persistence, patience, and passion.

SDWI:

Any highlights for you personally as an author?

TG:

Besides the writing process itself, my favorite thing about being a writer is hearing from readers. Suddenly, the very private act of writing becomes a conversation. And that is thrilling.

SDWI:

What is something random about you?

TG:

In junior high school I used to be able to solve the Rubik's Cube in under a minute.

SDWI:

Anything else you can think of that might get readers excited about participating in the certificate program?

TG:

How about this for a New Year's Resolution? Write a novel.
