South Shore Chamber of Commerce appoints Alan Macdonald of South Shore Hospital to the Board

ROCKLAND, Mass. - Jan. 12, 2015 - PRLog -- The South Shore Chamber of Commerce, the region’s largest Chamber, announces that Alan Macdonald, Director of Public Policy and Community Benefits Officer with South Shore Hospital has been named an Officer of the Chamber’s Board of Directors.

In this capacity, Macdonald will work with South Shore Chamber President and CEO Peter Forman and Board of Directors Chairman Jacqueline Collins to help oversee general strategy and direction for the Chamber. He will also serve as the Chair of the Chamber’s Government Affairs Committee, whose newly defined mission includes taking and suggestion Chamber Board positions on various legislative agenda items on the topics of affordable care act, infrastructure, access to capital and other business critical matters.

Macdonald, a resident of Hingham, sits on the Board of Trustees of the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation, is a Director on the South Shore Workforce Investment Board, and serves on the Blue Hills, Brockton and Plymouth Community Health Network Areas Steering Committees.  He is a member of the Weymouth Rotary and an Emeritus Member of the United States Air Force Chief of Staff Civic Leaders Group.
