Follow on Google News | Hayes Software Systems Delivers Consultative Engagement Services for K-12 Asset ManagementConsultative services help school districts overcome emerging inventory control challenges.
“As many districts nationwide implement 1:1 device initiatives and add more assets to their classrooms that need to be centrally reported at the district, we’re seeing an increased need for new inventory oversight procedures to protect those investments. Internal communications can be difficult to navigate with already overwhelmed staff, and we’re excited to add these additional avenues of professional services to support school districts in adopting and implementing a communication strategy tailored to help them achieve their goals,” says Keith Svetlik, Director of Operations for Hayes Software Systems. Recent school districts taking advantage of these services include Albuquerque Public Schools, Dallas Independent School District, and Grand Prairie Independent School District. Dallas ISD, the 14th largest district in the country, began the rollout of their plan for adoption of new inventory control procedures, which includes partnering with Hayes Software Systems to guide and support the district’s leadership team. One of the first steps in the process included conducting “Discovery Sessions” wherein Hayes consultants personally work with district leaders to review asset inventory management procedures across departments and identify the specific needs of the organization. “Discovery days really open up the lines of communication between departments in a district. With executive leadership support, addressing the strategic goals and tactical challenges that inevitably come with new instructional and operational initiatives gives a district the opportunity to minimize duplication of resources, provide greater data transparency, and ensure these process changes are successful,” Using the learnings from Discovery Sessions, Hayes Software Systems consultants worked with district leaders from Albuquerque Public Schools, the 31st largest district in the country, to develop a policy and procedure manual designed to improve district-wide accuracy and efficiency of inventory processes, as well as to create a foundation for future inventory initiatives. To ensure the program met needs across the district, Hayes consultants incorporated 10 different departments within the district into their analysis, and procedures were developed for 6 different program areas. The new suite of consultative services are now available in addition to the company’s existing consulting engagements, and utilize the Hayes Software Systems services team’s more than 100 years of combined education focused inventory management experience serving districts across the country.
