By: Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort The program runs January through the end of March. The cost is $35 per student during weekdays, $45 on Saturdays and Sundays, with a complimentary chaperone ticket included for every 12 students. Groups are limited to 200 students and schools are required to provide one chaperone for every 20 students. Snow Day program includes: A 1.5-hour ski or snowboard lesson taught by a PSIA/AASI instructor Lift ticket Equipment rental and helmet Ski and snowboarder safety, cold weather safety and winter first aid course taught by a member of the National Ski Patrol (optional) Lunch and snacks “The Snow Day program gives local kids who don’t get to experience the traditional snow days, the opportunity to interact with snow through play and snow sports,” said Kevin Stickelman, LVSSR’s president and general manager who spearheaded the program. “Our goal has always been to inspire our local youth to lead a healthier active lifestyle and the program has had great success in doing this. We had over 800 students from local schools participate last year alone." The snow sports portion of the program adheres to The Nevada Department of Education’s health and physical education content standards.
