Rock Band SLEEP NATION Latest Fan Actor Santiago Cirilo from The Walking Dead to Attend Concert

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Jan. 27, 2015 - PRLog -- 2014 milestones from McMinnville based indie rock band are creating a wake up call for rock music lovers searching for more than the commercialized drone of medicre sound. Sleep Nation created their first official music video in collaboration with the Nashville Film Institute to feature their song "I Want You Back", August 2014. By December, "I Want You Back" was announced as Nashville Radio Station, 102.9 the Buzz's "Local Buzz" Top 25 of 2014.On November 18,  Feature Filmmaker and Award Winning Music Publisher, Gigi de Lugo, CEO of Tropic Heat Studios, landed on a friend’s Facebook post of the music video.  “ It was midnight, I was online from my Nashville farm, and this music came pouring out of my speakers igniting my soul. I immediately searched for every bit of Sleep Nation music I could find online, and just kept it all looping four non-stop hours, it absolutely blew me away ! The following morning I was on a mission determined to get in touch with the band and start sharing their music. My friends began responding with similar comments “I haven’t heard a new band like this in a while. Real rock and roll, no gimmick “ said Michael - in Florida. "...they are very good !" Wrapping up 2014, Sleep Nation rolled into 2015 gaining momentum and an expanding  fan base.  “I began talking with the band through their co-founder, lead singer, Bran Merritt, who  sent me the unmastered songs of their new album. The tracks were uploaded to SoundCloud and a secret link created to invite my friends to weigh-in with their reviews, among them, was actor Santiago Cirilo, (“Julio” in The Walking Dead). “ explained Gigi de Lugo. “This is totally insane. Never thought an actor of this caliber would be rocking out to Sleep Nation!” Bran Merritt commented on his Facebook page. Santiago Cirilo posted next in the social media stream, “Gigi, the music was amazing. Great band. Not too heavy, just right to motivate a crowd. Hope they keep playing, because they can win in this market, especially out here in the south. I will keep them in mind for a film soundtrack. Much Love, God Bless, and hopefully see you Soon. Let me know when I can get a hard copy of the CD. I will pay for it. But only if its autographed by the band. Happy New Year !!” Responses from friends and music industry professionals who received the secret link were consistent, fueled by an excitement that duplicated Gigi’s first impression of the band, “I’ve waited my whole life and 25 years in the music industry to discover a band this good. These days it's more challenging than ever to impress music industry professionals - there's a lot of white noise, not a lot of substance out there. These guys are writing and developing all their own songs, and dedicated themselves to the art of that, not the five minutes of fame. ” says Gigi. "I want to hear music by a new band I can imagine will still be touring 25 years from now - like some of my generation's legends, The Rolling Stones, ZZ Top, The Eagles, Aerosmith - those are artists."

Saturday, January 31st, Sleep Nation will be playing at Collins River BBQ in McMinnville TN, along with Sunday Corduroy, and Jacob Roper. “You can't go wrong with hometown shows. This is where we want to play. Three of us are from McMinnville. Justin Swingler, co-founder and drummer, is not originally from McMinnville, but he might as well be an adopted son. Therefore 2015 should start with a show where we first unveiled the band’s new recruits, Seth Bouldin and Garrett Roper"  Considering their latest fan is "Julio" (Santiago Cirilo) of The Walking Dead hit series, Bran said "The band are all huge fans of the Walking Dead, you could even go so far as to say the Sleep Nation band name is a play on the entire zombie fascination.”
