Phoenix Dentist to be Honored by Smiles Beyond the Bars

PHOENIX - Jan. 28, 2015 - PRLog -- Phoenix Dentist, Dr. Mark Espinoza, will be honored by Smiles Beyond the Bars at their “Diamonds in the Rough” Smile Makers Gala at the Ritz Carlton in Phoenix on March 8th 2015. Smiles Beyond the Bars is a Christian nonprofit whose mission is to change the lives of formerly incarcerated people by changing their smiles with donated dental care by participating Dentists.

Through a committed network of participating dental professionals and labs, Smiles Beyond The Bars has helped more than one hundred deserving, formerly incarcerated, candidates in Arizona and California whose teeth have suffered the effects of drugs, poverty, and prison. With over a million dollars in dental procedures done, recipients have demonstrated successful transition back into society with a 0% recidivism rate.

Dr. Mark Espinoza says, "I got into Dentistry because I wanted to have a positive effect upon people's lives. It is amazing to see the change in these clients  once they see their new smiles. It produces a profound increase in their self confidence. It is so rewarding to see."

Linda Parker, Founder of Smiles Beyond the Bars, was recently quoted by CBS News in Phoenix, "We are here to make them more beautiful. God has changed them on the inside. But we change the outside." Ms. Parker continued, "We change the teeth so they could get a smile, so they can go out and be who they are called to be and not have the (old) teeth as a reminder of what they use to be."

Dr. Mark Espinoza, of Central Dental Care in Phoenix, is to be honored at the March 8th Gala Event because he has donated his services to deserving, formerly incarcerated, individuals through Smiles Beyond the Bars. The average cost of a makeover is between $15,000 to $50,000. Dr. Espinoza has donated teeth cleanings, deep cleanings, periodontal disease treatment, crowns, bridges, veneers, teeth whitening and Fastbraces to Smiles Beyond the Bars Recipients.

Dr. Espinoza says, "I have always maintained that, when you change a person's smile, you change that person's life. The fact that Smiles Beyond the Bars enjoys a zero recidivism rate, of individuals returning to prison, after receiving their new smile bears this out.
