Jazz Superstar Ski Johnson Collaborates on Upcoming Album with Grammy® Winning Producer

WASHINGTON - Jan. 30, 2015 - PRLog -- Washington DC – Jazz Superstar Saxophonist Ski Johnson is collaborating with three-time Grammy® Award winning producer Darius “Deezle” Harrison.  Johnson, a native Washingtonian and alumnus of the prestigious Duke Ellington School of the Performing Arts, is currently planning his tenth studio album, the follow up to his #1 Billboard charted album “Underdogs on Top”.

Johnson, a jazz saxophonist has been with performing and recording for over thirty years and has toured and worked with some of the biggest names in music that include Lionel Hampton, Nancy Wilson, Phyllis Hyman, the Harper Brothers, Dr.Billy Taylor, Lo-Key, Freddie Jackson, Mikki Howard and recently, Roy Ayers, Patti LaBelle, Tony Terry, CeCe Peniston and Brian McKnight.  Johnson recently made world history at the New York Stock Exchange, as the first saxophonist to perform on the Podium and Floor of the New York Stock Exchange at the Closing Bell.  In 2014, Johnson teamed with business mogul Shelia Johnson and finished a yearlong artist-in-residence at the luxurious Salamander Resort in Middleburg, Virginia entitled “Jazz in the Living Room”.

Harrison, known in the industry simply as “Deezle” is a New Orleans native and famous for co-producing #1 Billboard, Grammy® winning Lil Wayne's single "Lollipop" alongside Jim Jonsin. Harrison has also produced such megastars as Destiny's Child, T.I., Lil Wayne, Sean Kingston, Mary J. Blige, Mario, Trina, Flo Rida, Master P., Rick Ross, Birdman, DMX and Teena Marie. Harrison is vying for another Grammy win as producer on R&B artist Chris Brown’s current Billboard chart topping album “X”. In addition to producing hit records, Deezle has made musical contributions alongside Donald Harrison to movie scores such as Right to Return and Rachel Getting Married, by Academy Award® winning filmmaker, Jonathan Demme.  Says Johnson of working with Deezle, “it’s a great opportunity to work with a producer of his caliber, the pre-production has been fantastic so far and, I can’t wait for fans to hear the finished product.”
