Garfunkel Wild, P.C. Partner Robert Del Giorno Named to LIBN ‘40 Under 40’ Class of 2015

GREAT NECK, N.Y. - Feb. 2, 2015 - PRLog -- Garfunkel Wild, P.C. (GW) is pleased to announce that partner Robert Del Giorno has been named to Long Island Business News’ 40 Under 40 Class of 2015.  Mr. Del Giorno is among Long Island’s top 40 rising stars who are not only hard working, talented and dedicated young professionals, but who also have made significant contributions to charitable endeavors and their communities. He was inducted into the 40 Under 40 Class of 2015 at an awards dinner at the Crest Hollow Country Club on January 29.

As a member of the firm’s Compliance and White-Collar Defense Group, Healthcare Group and Litigation Group, Mr. Del Giorno represents both individuals and organizations in civil litigations and in connection with state and federal criminal investigations and prosecutions.  He has particular experience in complex litigations, white-collar crime and internal investigations. He has handled a variety of high-profile matters, including defending local New York hospitals in complex, multi-million dollar False Claims Act cases.  Mr. Del Giorno’s practice also includes advising clients in the area of fraud and abuse, including federal and New York State anti-kickback laws.  He also represents clients in the healthcare and early intervention industries with audits conducted by government agencies.

Before joining Garfunkel Wild, P.C. in 2008, Mr. Del Giorno worked with the law firm of Fulbright & Jaworski LLP in New York City where he focused on commercial litigation and criminal defense matters.  Prior to this, he served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Nassau County DA’s office where he tried numerous cases to verdict.  As a member of the Special Victims Bureau, he handled cases involving victims of sex crimes, domestic violence, elder abuse, child abuse and more.

He has published professional articles in trade publications, including the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers renowned journal The Champion, and has participated in various professional seminars.

Mr. Del Giorno is a member of the New York Bar Association.  He received his BA from Fairfield University and his JD (cum laude) from St. John’s University School of Law.
