Illustrators of the Future Grand Prize Winner Seth Rowanwood Designs Kickstart Board Game

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - Feb. 2, 2015 - PRLog -- Seth Rowanwood was awarded the Illustrator Grand Prize at the 26^th Annual L. Ron Hubbard Achievement awards held in Hollywood, California. The event celebrated the annual winners in the International L. Ron Hubbard Writers and Illustrators of the Future Contests, legendary for launching the careers of writers and illustrators in the field of science fiction and fantasy. Seth took home the grand prize in 2010 and continues to involve himself in science, science fiction/fantasy related projects.  His first out-of-this-world project ended up in space, literally. He was asked to do the cover art for June Scobee Rodgers book about the Challenger Centers. The book including Seth's cover art was placed aboard the last space shuttle, STS-135 in July 2011.

         His latest project is also out-of-this-world - the branding, logo and final production art for a Kickstarter board game, Deep 5H.1T by Lynnvander. The project was successfully funded during the Christmas season and Seth is busy now working on the final production art.

         Here is a description of the game: In the distant future, a crew of oddballs in a ship that can barely stay powered must save themselves from themselves and from, the universe. To lead a starship one must possess a keen eye, a sharp mind, and the courage to stare down insurmountable odds – or at the very least one must own a ship with enough crew to keep it from exploding.

         Deep 5H.1T is a competitive, resource management, strategy game for 2-4 players. You decide how your character will spend their actions, collect their resources and ultimately build their commendations to score enough points to be considered the true 'captain' of the very first 5H class ship in the space fleet. The running time is approximately 60-90 minutes for a full four player game.

         Deep 5H.1T will include custom acrylic, wooden and metal game pieces to represent the various resources in the game and will also include high quality cards with a linen finish, and solid 2mm thick character boards and game board.

         The problem and solution cards will let you interact with your opponents to choose the best solutions to the problems facing the ship, while earning bonuses which will help you compete in the constant struggle over resources and points. Even the best solutions won't help you if you don't prepare for the Deep 5H.1T cards.
