Student-run Venture Fund Selects First Deal: BYU SaaS Parental Control Platform

SALT LAKE CITY - Feb. 9, 2015 - PRLog -- Campus Founders Fund (CFF), a new venture capital fund run autonomously by university students, announced closing a deal with what will be its first portfolio company, Bettrnet, a behavior-based solution for healthy technology habits. The deal marks an important milestone on CFF’s path to build Utah’s student entrepreneur community, and on Bettrnet’s path to become parents’ choice software in reinforcing family culture through technology.

“Working with the Campus Founders was an incredibly beneficial process for Bettrnet,” says Troy Shields, co-founder of Bettrnet. “Not only did they give us $20,000 to help make our dream a reality, they also worked closely with us to understand our goals and how they could help us achieve them. Bettrnet plans to release its parental control software to the public on April 30, 2015. It will include time allocation options for sites such as Netflix and Facebook, customizable alerts, and high-level reports.
