New Building Control Officer for MC Plan & Site Services

Feb. 11, 2015 - PRLog -- MC Plan & Site Services, a leading firm of Independent Building Inspectors in the South, is delighted to welcome Tony Pound as the latest recruit to the ever increasing team.

Tony is a qualified Building Control Surveyor and is based in the New Forest where he was born and brought up, so is very familiar with the local planning and building control requirements.

He started his working life in the building industry after leaving school at the tender age of 16, when he first became a bricklayer’s labourer.  After that he progressed to a ground worker and then worked as a foreman for two large and very well-known New Forest house builders.

Tony said: “I have been very fortunate to have worked alongside some extremely experienced people in all aspects of building construction, and with over 15 years on site I have learnt many practical points in relation to all ground work, civil work, setting out, and machine operations.  It was during that time that I gained my HNC qualification in Building Studies.”

In 2004 Tony then started work as assistant Building Control Surveyor with Bournemouth Borough Council working under Mark Cook, the Managing Director of MC Plan & Site Services.  He then moved to work for the New Forest District Council Building Control where he gained his professional Qualification in Building Control.

Mark said: “We are delighted to have Tony on board to join our already well respected and established team.  We cover the whole of the south of the UK and Tony brings another string to our bow and with his office in the New Forest, will enable us to be more accessible to our clients in that area.  He brings with him an enviable 10 years plus experience in the Building Control arena and will be a real asset to MC Plan & Site Services.”

Tony lives with his wife and two children in the New Forest and when he’s not fishing or carrying out DIY, he is catching up with the latest Formula 1 results.
