L.A. Intro. to Musical Theatre Puppetry - March 29th


Have you ever wanted to perform like the puppeteers in the musical "Avenue Q"? Now is your opportunity to do so!

In this three-hour, fast-paced introductory workshop, you'll gain experience with rod-arm and live-hand puppets performed in the "Avenue Q"-style, where the puppeteer performs right along with the puppet. Arm yourself with the basics of lip-sync, eye focus, characterization, simple staging, and correct puppet positioning through choreography and improvisation.

Limit: 8 students per class

Ages: 16 and up

Must enroll by March 23rd

Date: Sunday, March 29th

Time: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Instructor: Libby Letlow

Letlow has been a theatrical actress all of her life, and has been involved with TV and film for the past twenty years. Her passion for puppetry began about five years ago when she took on the physically demanding task of puppeteering the large Audrey II plant in a production of "Little Shop of Horrors." Since then, Libby has been performing and instructing with Puppet School, along with coaching various productions of "Avenue Q" and creating original puppetry works for independent web projects.
