Follow on Google News | AVI’s New Rugged SDI to NTSC/PAL Converter - Solving Interface Issues in Surveillance SystemsAVI’s small and light weight SDI to NTSC/PAL converter provides conversion of SD, HD, or 3-G SDI video to legacy video standards providing cost effective interface solutions to analog-only devices
Measuring just 6.2 x 4.3 x 1.7 inches and under 1.5 pounds, the unit accepts one SDI input and converts it to either component SD/HD, NTSC/PAL composite, or NTSC/PAL S-Video outputs. Low latency, high performance processing provides SDI decoding and scaling to the selected output. The SDI input is automatically detected and also re-clocked as a looped-through output. The C150101 provides a convenient and flexible method for converting SDI video to various analog formats on mission systems and provides simple plug-and-play operation. AVI’s converter is available in a 1, 2, or 4 channel versions. “AVI’s new SDI to NTSC/PAL Converter allows our customers to interface to existing devices with NTSC or PAL video inputs such as downlinks and recorders. Customers are not always able to replace the entire sensor suite during mission system upgrades,” said Bruce Carriker, President and founder of AVI. “This provides a systematic and a cost effective road map for upgrading their sensor platforms and solves the immediate interface issue.” AVI’s rugged C150101 is DO-160 tested, accepts 9 – 36 volts DC power, and operates from -30⁰C to +65⁰C. The unit is designed for use in airborne law enforcement, ground systems, marine law enforcement, and defense surveillance applications. Based on SMPTE SDI and EIA video standards, it can be used with any SDI video source or any analog capable device.
