Contact: Thomas Trimingham 847-496- Community Outreach Manager BY YOUR SIDE - Autism Therapy Services 16W361 S Frontage Rd Suite 131 Burr Ridge IL, 60527-5816 Burr Ridge, IL – BY YOUR SIDE Autism Therapy Services has expanded their Burr Ridge center to help more families with children on the Autism spectrum. The new space will be over 5600 square feet and include areas for additional therapists and support staff. Julie Martin, a board certified behavior analyst (BCBA) and speech language pathologist (SLP) who co-founded the BY YOUR SIDE centers in Burr Ridge and Schaumburg IL felt that the center in Burr Ridge had to increase it’s size to address the needs of the community. “We were busting at the seams and wanted to let everyone have a bit more room to stretch out and be comfortable. The additional space houses administrative offices allowing for more therapy rooms in the main part of the center”, says Martin BY YOUR SIDE offers a variety of services to assist clients, ranging from age two to 21. At the Schaumburg and Burr Ridge centers clients are evaluated and, depending on individual needs, receive ABA, speech language, augmented alternative communication, feeding, occupational, or cognitive therapy. In addition to therapies offered in the center, BY YOUR SIDE also offers ABA therapy to families in their homes. Martin explains, "In Home ABA services are available which provides an opportunity to learn and generalize skills in a familiar environment allowing parent coaching and skill building in real-time events." The particular approach that BY YOUR SIDE takes is unique and centered around communication. “A language-based approach can address both skill building and behavioral support needs, with language deficits at the root of many autism specific behaviors,” explains Martin, who says helping clients develop skills to better understand and communicate allows the individual to utilize more effective and appropriate ways to advocate for themselves to get needs met. Since the demand for all BY YOUR SIDE autism therapy services continues to rise, the company has had to adjust it’s space to accommodate. Martin explains, "The demand for quality autism therapies continues to grow. We continue to be dedicated to grow our centers and therapies to meet the needs of the autism community."
